This is an After Action Report of a Winter War engagement
recreated in 15mm using the "Company Orders" rule set by
Ron Allshouse.  This is a new rule set and was fun to play, using
varying dice from  D4's to a D20's instead of long lists off
modifiers to resolve combat.

The scenario is that the Finnish troops have been ambushing
Russian supply columns, so the Russians send out a stronger force,
mostly hidden in covered trucks, to bait the Finns and destroy them.
However, the Finnish forces have taken up a good position for an
ambush and need to capture some supplies since they are cut off.
The Finns work with the GM to set an
ambush for the Russians.
Turns 1-3:  The Russian column enters
the board (hidden movement), but soon
senses an enemy presence in the light
woods just off the main road.
Turn 4:  The Finns spot the Russian column
and open fire.  They take some casualties, but
the Russian T-26 goes up in smoke after being
penetrated by an AT round.
Turn 5:  The Finns call in arty and open up with machine gun
and rifle fire from the hills surrounding the road.  The Russian
column starts taking suppression markers, slowing it down.
Amazingly, the Finns miss with their artillery.
Before Turn 6:  At this point, the Russians still have a long
way to go to get off of the board, and there are still surprises
out there.  The light snow has helped the Finns to bring a lot of
fire onto the column.  (There is a roll for visibility at the start of
each turn.)
Turns 7-9:  With their trucks suppressed or
disabled, the Russian infantry dismounts in an
attempt to clear out the Finns.  They are still
taking fire from artillery and machine guns,
but have managed to clear the light woods.
Turns 7-9:  You can see that the Russian
column has divided into two groups as it
stretches across the road.
Turns 7-9:  The Russian KV-1 proves
deadly for the Finns.  Nothing they have
seems to be able to stop it.
Turn 10:  The Russian supply wagons make
a break for it, but the lead wagon hits a land
mine.  They also spot a roadblock that has
been set up, with a disabled tank for support.
Results:  The Finns have successfully ambushed the Russians.  Now that the Russian infantry is deployed, it is in
a position to strike back, but they have taken heavy casualties and have run out of time.  The Finns have gained
some supplies from the supply wagons and will slip away into the snow.  A decisive victory for the forces from
Finland.
