This is a short After Action Report for the Battle of Ticonderoga recreated in
54mm by Charley's Cobras in Brooklyn, NY.

Historically, 16,000 British soldiers were defeated by 4,000 French.  However,
in this scenario, the British changed history and used their artillery to soften
up the French abbatis, thereby allowing the British to capture the battlefield
and bring siege guns to bear on the fort.  (Why you ask?  Maybe Howe
survived and command did not fall to Abercromby.  Maybe a coin toss went
the other way.  It is best not to question the GM.)
Here is the French abbatis and the fort itself.
The British and French
commanders order their
troops into battle.
The British HQ is perched on a window sill high
above the battlefield.
Montcalm and the French prepare for the opening
bombardment.
The British artillery bombardment opens some
weak points to be exploited later.
British light infantry lead the way.
The French put up a strong defense.
French guns in the fort blaze away at the attacking
British forces.
The Black Watch (42nd) march into the fray.
These colonials are a little ahead of their time.
The battle rages . . .
. . . but the British are able to use their superior
numbers to take the abbatis.
