Our weekend of commemorating the 70th Anniversary of D-Day has come and gone and boy- what a weekend it was.
Friday saw Mike W., Tom and Angela take to Normandy with GMT’s Normandy ’44 whilst in the back, Myself, Kimber, Will and Lewis took to street fighting for Vierville using I Ain’t been Shot Mum.
Saturday saw the Liberation of France continue with Kimber and Justin storming the beach followed by Peter, Kimber and James fighting it out amongst the bocage. We also had an impromptu auction headed by our own Mike D. and raised some extra cash for the Club.
Lastly, on Sunday, the battles continued with Kimber organizing a Flames of War fight with Harry and David organizing a big Memoir ’44 game.
All in all, it was a great weekend and not only did we have D-Day themed games running- the weekend also saw games played such as Waterdeep and World in Flames. Thanks to everyone who came out, organized a game, played in a game or checked us out for the first time (there were several of you there too). Look for more themed days like this in the future and keep rolling the dice!
